All honors classes except for French and science. I did so bad. . . I dropped out of World but but my F still comes with me into Honors S.S so like I calculated what I will get as a final S.S grade IF I fail my AP Mid-Term this Thursday and it is a C. But that is if I get an A+ in every test in honors. . . I hope I can at least get into a good college with this horrible freshman year grades. I at least want to get to like a 3.4 for the end of freshman year . .

Colleges that I want to go to - Columbia, U. Chicago, Rutgers, St. Johns, NYU, SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY Binghampton, Sophie Davis, Boston College, Tufts, U. Michigan, Northeastern, Northwestern. By the way, pharmacy or premed.

freshman year can be rough. Just try your best. Nothing anyone can say to a man who's working hard. you might also want to consider colleges that drop freshman year altogether (princeton, the UCs, etc). Good luck.

Haha yeah i forgot about Princeton but I am still like . . .scared. I just wanna be in the comfort zone of being accepted to Stony Brook or like St. Johns or Binghamton.

saxsky,
im a freshman too, and i too am having a not so great time at school. my choice of schools is very similar to yours. lets not give up, and go at it throughout highschool!

Some schools don't look at freshmen year. It can be a tough transition. I don't know about your schools, though.
UChicago, Columbia, Northwestern, & Tufts I think look at it.
You have a shot at St. Johns. :) I'm applying there! Just make sure you improve and show an interest.

^Not personally directed towards you in general, but I HATE the attitude on this site. "If I don't get into blah blah blah, I'm gonna be a janitor/fastfoodemployee/etc."

Worst case scenario: you go to CC 2 years, transfer to state uni, go to good grad school.

News flash: In Chicago, most HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) employees make more than 70,000$...a LOT more than many college students, plus, NO (student) DEBT! The average they make (nationwide) is 43-45,000 a year, which is not bad.

Sorry for the small rant, but some of you (again, not trying to attack you sAxsKy) need to be realistic. Don't worry, I screwed up in HS a bit as well, just stay strong. It's not the end of the world. In the end, you are still gonna end up better than at least 75% of the world.

Nova, I'm not sure exactly what you meant because the only person on here with a high post count is enderkin and (s)he gave good info, wasn't trying to be cool...

The people on here are right, freshman year can be tough. Try switching into less difficult courses your 2nd semester if you can. Freshman year is meant to be a transition, not your junior year.

I thought I was wasn't meeting my goals.
(I'll only have 9 credits for the entire year.)

Freshman year: (I'll just combine 1 & 2 quarters)

Summer: Geometry Accelerated (8 weeks): A

World History Honors-A
English I Honors-A
Writing Honors-A
Engineering Honors-A
Apps of Science Honors- A
Algebra II- A/B (I'm not sure what the exact grade is, but it is either a really low A or a high B)
APAH-B
The only change is that in second semester I have Pre-cal honors, and the rest except for APAH (year long) and Algebra II (1 semester) are block schedule.

Are you classes Block? Because how do you fit 9 courses in a day if they aren't?

Really, I don't believe any college will reject you only for Freshmen grades. You just need to step it up (and I don't mean by the number of courses.) Who told you to take so many courses? Did anything happen to cause you to do so poorly?
