Hey guys , is there a difference between a normal Prerequisite and one thats enforced . I need to take a class during Summer session 5 ,to get to 12 units for the summer, but it has a upper division standing prereq . The strange thing is, Growl let me enroll in the course , I'm transferring in next semester as a Sophomore, although with the units from summer I'll be able to get to Junior status so I can start my upper division course work .

From what I understand, some Prereqs are enforced, and some aren't . I tried to enroll in a different class with an upper division standing requirement and it wouldn't let me, so I'm guessing this means that the class growl wouldn't let me add has an enforced prereq , while the class I'm already in doesn't have an enforced prereq. I've already emailed the professor to ask for his permission if necessary, although I'm pretty sure he'll give it to me since his class still has plenty of spots.

Switching to a different class isn't really an option, since I can only afford housing for one half of the summer and I need 8 session 2 units and 4 session 5 units to make this happen( stupid 1900$ a month dorms ) .
