What is and isn't a legacy?

<p>ya like my dad got his MBA at Wharton, and is basically a alum of Upenn...he has an email address, benefits,donates some money etc...does it still count as a legacy?</p>

<p>Yeah I wan tto knoew this too I have aunts and ucles who attended Penn, and although this isnt a "legacy" I'm wondering how much wieght this carries and if I should still put it down.</p>

<p>I had 2 uncles go to MIT, and my dad went to Duke, but none of them, as far as I know, has ever given back really anything to their schools. Are they still legacies?</p>

<p>Aunts and uncles unless they are major benefactors to the college will not help you as far as legacy status.</p>

<p>Zoa would be a legacy at Duke . Maybe because he has not participated much since graduating who can say how strong his legacy tie will be.</p>
