I just don’t understand what AP classes are. I know that they stand for Advanced Placement and that one takes Advanced placement exams after taking these courses, but I don’t know anything else. Could someone please explain what they are in depth?
Also, for those who have taken 15+ AP courses in their high school years, how do take that many? Do you take them all during high school or some during the summer? If so, where, and how?
(Sorry if I have so many questions)
AP courses are rigorous, college-level classes in a variety of subjects that give students an opportunity to gain the skills and experience colleges recognize.

Some high schools allow freshman and sophomores to take AP. Some classes, depending on the HS, are a semester in length - AP Physics C: Mech, AP Physics C: E&M, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics are common examples. Some students self study the material on their own, in addition to their regular classes.
Other than potentially racking up college credit at a public university, there really aren’t many valid reasons to try to take 15+ courses. It’s not an arms race where the one with the most APs wins.
