what is Arcadia college in Glenside PA like?

is this suburban rural or urban? I see it's about a half hour north of philly, looks nice on the website. Does anyone know about this school?

It's not very well regarded here. They called it Beaver for a reason :P

what do you know of Elizabethtown College near Hershey PA?

Better school, but a rip compared to the great in state schools. Better area, but going to Hershey park would get old. Meh.

We visited Etown. Beautiful town, campus looked nice - kind of hard to tell, it was a horrendous day, weather-wise. Very cold and rainy at their open house in April. I expected to love it and did for a while. Then when we broke into groups looking at specific majors, it went way down. The faculty member we had representing her department was uninspiring and boring. That was enough to turn son off. We tried to look at a couple of other buildings, such as the gym and it was totally dark - no lights on at all. And this was their Open House. Even the academic building we were told to go to for the dept. presentation was dark when we got there. All the open houses we have gone to in the past have all their buildings open, lighted and welcoming. Here, it seemed like they were closed! Son lost interest and didn't even want to bother with a campus tour. It might have been different if the weather was nicer, but the faculty member's lack of enthusiasm made the biggest impression on him.

People call it Beaver, b/c Beaver College was it's name until 2001. And that name come from the founding in Beaver, PA not b/c of the animal you bimbo.

Arcadia is decent school with great international studies and economics programs. Though they over-market the whole castle-montro, it does have a fairly nice campus. It is well regarded by many, including being on the Black Enterprise list for Best Colleges and the U.S. News A Schools for B-Students.

Arcadia is in a rather suburban location, shaded by trees and on a hillside campus, Philly is close but not visibly present. My concerns I'll share about Arcadia is that their dorming situation (and facilities for some departments) are inadequate and though the school is working hard to give the campus a complete make-over my guess is it wont be done by the time you graduate, or you'll be living through a construction nightmare for four years.

jPoD, your commentary uneeded, especially since not everyone wants to attend PennState, Pittsburg, or the other state schools. The OP probably isn't even from PA.

The female reproductive organ you silly goose!

I wouldnt want to attend Penn State either. Cant blame them.

I'm going to school in....wait for it....BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
