What is AU looking for in Transfer students?

My transfer application was placed on hold. I got a 3.38 GPA last semester, and I am sure that I can achieve a higher GPA this semester. Currently my Cumulative GPA is 2.79, but after the end of the spring semester I will have a 2.95/3.0 GPA and 61 credits, surely this would be enough to be accepted to AU. Please some advice, because i’m starting to get nervous.

I’m not SURE it would be enough to get into AU.

a) AU won’t even look at your application if you have a 2.5 and below. You can’t get into Kogod or SIS with under a 3.0.
b) It depends on where you’re coming from. If you have a 2.95 at a community college, it looks worse than if you have one at an Ivy League School.
c) Did you get teacher recommendations? They (as well as your personal statement) can be an important factor in swinging your acceptance.

It’s good that you have a positive trend in your GPA – but I transferred from a Private 4-year liberal arts college with 67 credits and a 3.54 GPA and got accepted without an ounce of Merit Aid. My only advice is keep on them, you can get different answers every time you call.

I have a recomendation from my counselor and my econ professor who is an AU alum. I am applying for economics, coming from a 4 year liberal arts school. In my personal essay I talked about my bicultural heritage and the diversity i could bring to AU (I’m an international student), seeing as AU prides itself on being a Global University.

Hi… I am on your same situation right now! I am worry about my GPA. 2.95…, Did you get in AU???
Thanks!
