What is BFA vs BA?

Can someone please explain to me the different between a BFA and a BA?

I want to go into musical theatre, but double major in college.

Is one more restrictive on double majors (It would be a double major in theatre and science)?

I feel like I heard about one being better for wanting to actually go into theatre professionally, but is that a myth?

What are the best schools for BFA vs best schools for BA?

Here’s a helpful explanation of the difference between BA and BFA: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/theater-drama-majors/566299-ba-or-bfa-in-acting-or-musical-theater-a-primer-and-a-little-test.html

If you want to double major, it would be easier with a BA program.

You should look at the 4-year academic plans for a few colleges that offer both BFA and BA degrees to see which degree appeals to you.

Some students gravitate towards those plans that have 3-4 theatre/voice/dance classes per semester with only 1-2 general education academic classes. Some are satisfied with just 1-2 theatre classes each semester. My D would have chosen no academic classes at all if she could have ???. Others thrive on those extra gen ed classes like 300 level History or English courses.
