I'll be going to Boston College next year, but still deciding what to be
What great programs does BC have?? I heard journalism, IR, english...

Well, it really isn't a program persay, but apparently their pre-law program is solid. I saw the stats one day, and their law school placement was very good.

how about the programs I mentioned?
and also is it's pre-med any good??

I majored in English there, and thought it was excellent. English was one of the 2 most popular majors back then (other was biology, for pre-meds). I don't know about journalism or IR. They typically offer far more philosophy courses than other colleges of comparable size.

Business is pretty good...top 30 I believe.

Definitely a good business school. Congrats on getting into BC by the way!

It's outstanding for German, also.

By the way congratulations on BC. I hope that it really works out for you. (I remember that you were considering University of Chicago at one point).

My friend is in his second year at BC and loves it, i think he's in the business program, but i'm not sure. It's a beautiful campus though

isn't the communications school good?

If BC is good for business then isn't Case western too (being ranked the same)??

lol, sorry to change the subject but I've never heard anyone speak good of Case undergrad biz as opposed to BC w/ every1 says has great undergrad biz. USNEWS ranks them the same...

Sure...but Case isn't in as great of a city...Boston vs. some place in Ohio? I'd pick Boston in a heartbeat. Boston has enough college students to make a country out of them. :)

Cleveland isn't that bad.

Cleveland isn't that bad.

It really is pretty bad though, compared to the major East coast cities. Cities like Cleveland and Detroit are pathetic. The sidewalks roll up at 5:30 pm and everyone retreats to the burbs. The city itself becomes a ghost town and "there's no there there" as Ms Stein said....A visit to Case was a visit enough for me...

wait...you got into U Chicago and went to BC? Excuse me? Lol I don't get that one.

business i believe, look on collegeboard.com! congrats btw!

Well if you got more $$ @ BC than at U chic then yea it makes sens...

Case is mainly a technical/engineering school, at least thats what their academic focus seems to be whereas BC is an all around "liberal arts" school. Im sure that BC has better business teachers and faculty than Case. In fact, I have friends at Case and BC. While every one of my friends that goes to Case majored in an engineering field, the ones that went to BC majored in diverse fields like business/philosophy/english/theology(which i would not recommend)/pre-med/pre-law and others.

BC is good for premed. Hey, a lot of people would rather go to BC than U Chicago. I didn't apply to BC, because back then, they did not give out much aid. Now they are much better.
