I love the Gate. I actually work there, and I still love it. So it must be pretty great. I am not such a fan of the V-Dub. My main problem with it is that it lacks the variety of the Ratty, and the lines are longer. The food is basically the same (sometimes it's the exactly the same thing on a different day) but the atmosphere is slightly better. And yes, the cups are larger.

Why are you working?

I'm working because I've had a job for the past 3 years and now it really freaks me out to spend money and not have any means of getting it back. For the first week or so I was here, I had about $20 in cash and hadn't set up a bank account, and then I spent all but 96 cents and it was very uncomfortable living like that. Working at Brown is not a bad deal at all. You only have to work 8 hours a week, you get paid reasonably well, and you get a raise every semester. And now, if my friends are going to Cold Stone or something, I don't have to sit in my room being antisocial because I don't have any money.

I love the fact that theres a coldstone on thayer... really makes providence seem more trendy and fresh than other lame cities -- i mean, what's a city without coldstone?

Yeah Cold Stone is nice, but now that we have gelato across the street (Robe Dolce) it's not worth it.

Treat yourself to some GOOD ice cream across the street.

OOo even better. I feel like Providence gets a bad rep - how bad could it be if it has coldstone and that robo dolce thingy ur talking about for starters? Let's see New Haven or New Hampshire try that one...

Robe Dolce is far too expensive for faux italian crap. (I'm just biased because I spent the summer in Italy).

Yeah it's not as good as in Italy, but it's far better than most of what you get on this side of the pond.

Actually, the ice cream in the Ratty tonight was pretty damn nice.

u guys make me so jealous that ur there already..... i may just hide in one ur suitcases or duffelbags when u come home and wait until you go back.... so if u see some kid pop out of ur suitcase one day randomly in ur room... yeah that's me :-D

Yeah as a dartmouth alum one thing brown has over dartmouth is the east side of providence. Its hip, fun, and there's a lot of cool places. Hanover was built for old people.

i didnt even know hanover was built for people in general.
