I go to a school where they don’t convert GPA to a 4 point scale, but a 4 point scale is the norm when it comes to college admissions. I have a weighted average of about 93, and just want to know what I’m on track for. I was just wondering what is considered “good” or a “bad” for a 100 point GPA in a college admissions context, generally. Thanks.
An A is either a 90 or 93 UW. You need to look at each course rather than the overall average.
you should know your Unweighted numbers. For your 93 weighted, basic math says it’s about a 3.7. However, many colleges have their own system for calculating GPA once they receive your application - they may weight differently or include different classes.
@Fishnlines29 the conversion isn’t basic math. With basic proportions, an 80 would be 3.2 a 50 would be a 2.0
http://www.collegeboard.com/html/academicTracker-howtoconvert.html says that would equate to a 4.0
@Anniqueg scales vary widely from one school to another, which is why most colleges review your high school’s profile and transcript. At our HS a 90-92 would be 3.67 and an 80-82 would be a 2.67, while in a neighboring school district those same ranges would be a 3.75 and 2.75, respectively. Generally speaking though a 93 would be considered a high A-, low A. Keep up the great work!!
@Meant2B Thanks! But I was wondering what would be considered “good” on the 100 point scale without converting.
