What is considered a reach school?

<p>I know it is a school that you don't think you will get into, but there is a small chance of admission. For example, lets say I have a 3.9 weighted GPA and a 2050. What ranges of gpa and sat scores would be considered "match" and which ones would be considered "somewhat reasonable reaches"</p>

<p>Something like this?</p>

<p>Match Average W GPA 3.8-4.0 average sat 2000-2100
Somewhat reasonable reach 4.0-4.15 average sat 2000-2150</p>

<p>Is the above pretty accurate?</p>

<p>You’d also have to factor in the admit rate. There are schools where your stats are solidly 50 th percentil that have a 30% admit rate, and others with a 15% rate.</p>
