What is considered to be a "good" financial aid package?

*** so I had 222 bucks in aid and now its back to 0. ***

also, how is it possible I didn’t get cal grant? My family is low income and I get free lunch at school…yet I don’t qualify for cal grant?

Can anyone answer my question about the blue/gold thing?

It’s a new program. The best people to ask that would be the FinAid folks at UCSD or UCSB – specifically if the Blue Gold Plan would alter their offer or are they already reflecting it in your package?

My mom called today and they told her that because the fin aid package online is not set and stone that it can change. she said that because the blue and gold grant does not start till this fall…unless you decide you’re going there they’re not including it in the package. and then my mom asked if it would change my fin aid package and take away my loans and the lady said she didn’t really know because it’s so new. so for now…IT’S A MYSTERY!!!

@lala91 thanks for calling in!

i guess now all we can do is accept our finanical aid package and wait… the blue and gold plan seems to be legit…

oh and @shavingcream umm was ur gpa low? cuz if it was then you might not be elgiable for any cal grants…

Thanks for the info lala.

According to the reagents memo they’ll even help you pay housing and stuff if you need it enough, how awesome.

Ok I called again about the blue and gold grant and they answered my quetion. They told me that it is for people that don’t receive a cal grant or pell grant but get a little aid from UCSD. it is only supposed to cover the cost of uc registration fees and other mandatory fees. soo ya…no blue and gold grant for me =(
