what is cornell like?

i have a guaranteed transfer for cornell and i am thinking of transferring, but i just wanted to ask a few questions.

Are there any clubs/bars around cornell? (i currently attend nyu so i am surrounded by them. im not really a heavy clubber but i do like to go once a month or so)
Are there specific dorms for transfer students? (that's what ive heard, so you can easily make friends.)
What is the financial aid like for international students?

Anyways, thanks for the answers in advance~

I believe there is a transfer center where transfer students can live with other transfers, so you can make friends, get used to Cornell, etc.

hey y17k I go to NYU right now too and I'm probably going to be transfering to Cornell too. but how are you liking NYU so far?

well one of the reasons i chose nyu was coz i wanted to go into business, but now im not so sure about that...

Wow, my sister goes to NYU too. I could never imagine someone who would come to Ithaca after a year or two in NYC. Cornell does have parties, but they are more like frat parties than clubs. There are bars in collegetown, but they are really crappy if you are used to NYC's standard.
About dorm, I think there's a transfer living center. But you can also choose to live in other dorms. Generally people block together during their sophomore year, so it might be better off to stay in transfer living center if you want to make more friends early on. They are knocking down lots of buildings on west campus, I am not sure if Transfer Living Center is still around. If I were you, I would try to get into one of the new dorms on West. They look pretty nice.
Financial aid- I don't think you will get much as an international student.

I'm pretty sure the transfer center is still there? It's supposed to be really nice . . .
