What is Dartmouth Admissions Doing Right Now?

(To steal from the Yale board and also try and make the Dartmouth board a little more lively) What do you think Dartmouth admissions is up to now? Are they still going over applicants, finishing up decisions, etc?

I’d guess they’re skiing!

They’re definitely done by now.

I was under the impression that they didn’t make final decisions until after Thanksgiving (they said they needed all materials by November 24th). If that’s the case, I think they’re wrapping up but not completely done yet.

They’re probably done, right? I mean, if they’re sending out financial aid decisions with the acceptance letters, they have to let the financial aid office know of the accepted students in advance so they can determine EFCs, yes? Unless Dartmouth isn’t sending out financial aid decisions with the acceptances, that is. I applied ED to Middlebury, and I’m fairly certain that’s how they do it, but I don’t know about Dartmouth.

They needed everything by Nov. 24th? My interview was Nov. 23rd…do you think they didn’t read it? Also, I had a major (state) award happen and submitted that as an email on Nov. 30. Do you think all that didn’t matter? BTW, how doyou think they habdle updates like that, does your file get flagged and someone reads the updates every morning or what?

Still asking themselves why all you people want to go to the Ivy League school no one ever remembers. Seriously, who ever remembers the Dartmouth out of all the Ivy League schools unless you live in New Hampshire. That is why they accept so many people ED, they know you’ll jump on Harvard or Yale later if they don’t bind you now. Oh well, have fun sinking into obscurity and enjoying the abyss of the Ivy League while playing beer pong at its birthplace. No one will ever remember that your school is an Ivy!

^***, Dartmouth imo is first in Ugrad…I’d choose it over Harvard anyday. And fyi, they don’t accept that many ppl ED. The ED acceptance rate this year will be about 23% including all the recruits, legacies, etc.

Wow, thanks for sharing your broad life experience with us. Can’t even imagine what kind of creepiness motivates somebody to actually take the time to post something that negative on a board. Wow, some sour grapes there, huh? Moderator, please remove that.

iPacman how do you know about 23%? That’s what I figure too but where did you hear that?

@maddowg1, I just looked through 110’s other posts; he is a complete ****head and is definitely not the most popular guy in UVA.

“@maddowg1, I just looked through 110’s other posts; he is a complete ****head and is definitely not the most popular guy in UVA.”

In UVA? Wow, get a grammar lesson, it’s at UVA. DUHHHHHHHH. Guess all the grade inflation at Dartmouth is getting to you. Your A’s really mean jack at Dartmouth I guess.

[Dartmouth College](Dartmouth College)

And I’m just being honest dude, ask most people to name the Ivies and they won’t remember (or know of) Dartmouth. To pick Dartmouth over Harvard and Yale is just downright stupid.

Love how you guys defend a school most of you won’t get into either lol.

[TheDartmouth.com | Early decision apps reach record numbers](http://thedartmouth.com/2010/11/16/news/earlydecision)

someone has posted this link before…

“Laskaris said that the size of the Class of 2015 will most likely fall in the traditional range of 1,090 to 1,100 students and typically early decision applicants make up 35 to 40 percent of the class. Laskaris said she expects that the Class of 2015 will include approximately 400 early decision applicants.”

ok I don’t really speak English but that doesn’t mean Dartmouth students or other applicants can’t.

Thanks for the “grammar lesson” though.

@110percent
Your attempt to put down one of the most prestigious, highly selective, and academic schools in the world (and one that I presume you got rejected to) is failing miserably.

And since you’re concerned with name-recognition, even if people may not recognize the name ‘Dartmouth,’ they will recognize the name ‘Ivy League.’

Please stop wasting your time and dignity with such immature comments.

Have a great day :)

Bitter rantings, don’t feed into the negativity

On 8/11

He got into a great school and will get a great education if it is his desire to obtain one. Time to let go and move on and enjoy your good fortune.

Ok so this isn’t helping me study for my Enviro test but back to the subject at hand: what do you think they’re up to now? Do you think they’re totally done and just sitting there starting RD?

You’re welcome bro. Chill out will you?

And yeah I got rejected from Dartmouth, so what, I recognize that I wasn’t good enough to get in lol. I wasn’t arguing that, I was arguing the fact that the school is forgettable, which is the truth. Don’t pull any of the “it’s known internationally bs”. Only schools known from the US internationally are HYPMS.

They should be done by now.
