I have applied as biochem and molecular biology but i was wondering what mcb focuses on. As dumb as this may sound, I have applied to biochem thinking it was the same thing as mcb, because I had heard that berkeley is very strong in mcb. Now after looking through the list of majors, I have just realized that they are two different majors. I want to go pre-med and i was wondering if the difference in majors will really make a difference later on during graduate school admissions. Will it be easy to change my major to mcb if i do decide it will be better for me? Man, I am starting to wish I had done a lot more research when choosing amongst the many different biological sciences.

Edit: I was also confused because when i went to berkeley's site, I couldnt find a site for biochem, but when i went to the site for mcb department, biochem was listed there as one of the areas of study. Is MCB just a broader major that incorporates a little of each biological science?

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. As ridiculous as my questions may be, I am really worried right now and afraid that I might have to change majors. I wanted to go to berkeley because I thought i had applied under a strong major, but if i didn't i might consider going to LA or changing majors.
