I am unsure as to whether or not I am going to apply to USC or not. I love the school, but it is so far away from me.

I checked the website and it said that something (part I) is due today, 10/15.

And I can't remember my password, so I have to call USC admissions, but I was wondering what did part I entail? Just info I take it?

I always thought the scholarship deadline was 12/1, and it apparenty still is, you just have to have part I in by today...?

thanks

Part 1 is optional. It consist of info such as name, address, etc. You may enter your SAT/ACT scores if you wish, but it is fine to leave that blank if you have more testing to complete. You may enter a major, or just put “undecided.” If you put a major it is FINE to put an entirely diffferent major on your Part 2 application which, as you say, is not due until 12/1/10.

The benefit if Part 1 is that is saves you $15 overall on your application fee:

Part 1 = $10, Part 2 (if you did #1) = $40 for a total of $50

Part 2 alone: $65

There was a problem with the website last night and this morning, so the deadline for Part 1 has been extended to October 18th. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1014713-usconnect-login-problems.html

If you feel it is likely that you will apply to USC, you might as well do Part 1 and save the $15.

Good luck!

Thank you very much!

I think I’m going to go ahead an pay now. I guess I will apply, and get part one in by tomorrow.

A sent this to alamemom but just in case she does not log in, maybe someone else can help me.

This is about the Oct. 18th deadline extension for part I of the USC app.

I have a question, has the extension for the part one deadline been confirmed to Oct. 18 (today)? I saw the post by the kc Peterson guy and he seems legit, but I don’t want to end up paying $75 when I only needed to shell out $65.

And am I too late anyway? Did I need to submit it by 11:59 last night (Oct. 17) to technically meet the deadline?

And when I log in to USConnect, and go to Undergrad Application, I get this message:

Undergraduate Application (Part I, Fall 2011)
We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.

…but maybe that is because I did not finish it? (all I really have to do is pay…)

Thanks!

Or maybe if I still have to pay that is a good thing?

It should be fine to submit until 11:59 pm Pacific time tonight (10-18). Don’t worry that it will take your money and not count as having submitted on time - as soon as the deadline passes the Part 1 application will no longer be available. Even those who started Part 1 and didn’t submit by tonight will then be taken straight to the Part 2 application.

Good luck!
