<p>San Jose State, Fresno State, Sacramento State, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo all have NCAA Division I sports (although the latter two are in Division I Football Championship Subdivision rather than the better known Division I Football Bowl Subdivision).</p>
<p>San Jose State is considered a good place to do EE and CS, with the added recruiting boost of being very local to many computer companies.</p>
<p>As others have said, the Cal Polys are known for engineering. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo had an impressively high job placement rate for 2009 civil engineering graduates.</p>
