I've seen many posts regarding EE at Wellesley on CC, but don't really understand what it is.
Can someone explain it?

Early Evaluation is an opportunity for students to apply slightly earlier than Regular Decision and receive basic feedback from the admissions office before the final decision is made. The application process is the same as Early Decision and Regular Decision--fill out the Common App and the Wellesley supplement. When you submit the materials, the board of admissions will review them and let you know by mid- to late-February whether your acceptance is Likely, Possible, or Unlikely. This response is not an official decision from the school, nor does it entail any obligations on the student's part.

The official admissions decision arrives in the mail at the same time as all of the Regular Decision letters. The EE feedback is essentially a reality check or heads-up for the student's benefit.

ETA: The EE feedback isn't an official decision, but the numbers clearly show that Likely candidates nearly always get an admissions officer and that Unlikely candidates almost never receive one. Possibles are ... 25% accepted? TheDad knows the exact rates.

Thanks for the clarification :)
