What is FSU like

Hi, my parents are moving to Tallahassee and i'll be going to college next year. I won't get a chance to visit FSU until next month. Can anyone tell me what it's like there, what are there favorite things about the campus/school, your experience, etc. For example, UK brags about its huge library, new gym, and high tech laundry?. Just odd things like that.

Like any school, it depends on who you associate with and what kind of culture you’re into. There’s a lot of frat/sports/football culture, there’s also a social activist scene, and there are also other cliques and subcultures like gamers. The library is probably the best part of FSU if you’re a huge academic nerd (like myself) and enjoy having access to a lot of books on a huge variety of topics. Oh, and we also have amenities like a bowling alley and Club Downunder, at which a variety of pretty cool or well-known bands play. I commuted to school so I can’t comment too much on campus living, but depending on your major it’s a relatively small campus and you’re going to see a lot of the same people over and over so best to make friends and stay on peoples’ good side.
