<p>I've seen this in some state colleges and universities. Is it true that if you meet their requirements (which seem quite average) that you automatically get in? It seems a little too good to be true and I know that it doesn't gaurantee admission to a particular program...but still. Thanks to anyone who can explain it to me!!</p>
<p>It is my experience that in California-if you are a public school student, and are identified as eligible for the ELC program-then several of the UCs will send you a letter guaranteeing acceptance should you elect to apply to that particular UC.</p>
<p>Yes. Most public universities publish minimum requirements for guaranteed admission. The requirements are different for different states, and sometimes for different universities within one state. Sometimes those requirements are ONLY for students who can claim in-state residence, and out-of-state students are held to a different set of standards.</p>
<p>Pretty much if they say it they must follow the condtions they have laid down.</p>
