What is generally considered a typical Asian?

hm.... yea i'm definately not that way, i have a cell phone and always use 1500 minutes a month...

good, now just don't sway towards the other extreme and start saying HEEEHH and CRUNK after every sentence and decking your ride out with spinners and platinum fronts.

lol?? yea im a twinky not a ... chocolate filled twinky

this racism and snack cake comparison is hilarious

haha... yea hohos and twinkies!

I forget, what does a hoho look like? Hostess snacks are too fattening, hehe.

Anyway... I find it pretty amusing that my best friend, who has a hispanic last name and lives with an Asian and a Caucasian guardian, both of whom teach college math and science, is slacking off in school because she's sitting on her last name. It's almost as funny as Asian kids sitting on their 1600s, thinking they're shoo-ins everywhere.

But seriously... when I was younger, my very very Asian father told me, "Practice your SAT math. You're Asian, and you can't do well in verbal, so you have to make it up in math." Guess what I get? 790 verbal, 740 math.

It's extremely awkward for those Asians who don't fit into the so called stereotypes. I love humanities - english, history....and I love the arts and music and culture. But in high school, I felt like I was expected to take all the AP sciences and maths and I ended up not enjoying them at all. So I guess I could have focused on things that I did have interest in and developed those skills instead of trying to be good at everything just because other people wanted me to be. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I am a 2nd generation Indian and my parents have always stressed getting a solid education and getting into a top notch college. My dad worked extremely hard back in his high school, college, and med school days. He is now a successful physician. This entire stereo type about Asians, while some of it might be true, is still an ignorant thing to say or think. What kind of question is that? (What is a typical Asian?) What, just because we possess a relentless work ethic and have the necessary perseverance to accomplish our goals, does that categorize us under the kids with "no life" or the so called "nerds"? Why is it that Indians have the highest incomes as a minority in the United States?? It is because we aren't lazy ass people. We know that hard work and a certain dedication to what you do can in the end make you a successful person.

And just to let all you know, it is the hard working Asians who are NHS members and participate in all these mind enriching extracurricular activities that are taking over Wall Street and the medical profession.

Nobody becomes successful without working hard unless you're Paris Hilton or someone who just gets everything handed to them on a silver platter.

I like aeropostale and old navy the best. I also like abercrombie, but their stuff is so expensive so I only have like 2 shirts from there. I also own some Sean Jeans and FUBU too. The rest of my clothes are from various brands including the GAP, Polo, Nautica, Banana Republic, etc.

I think that wal-mart reference is not universal.

Well, despite everything, the guys are pretty pieces of eye candy.

Yea all my clothes are abercrombie and i'm asian, it's just what i wear

I will never ever buy Abercrombie in my life. Just wanted to make that clear. They even had a class action lawsuit against them that they kept the darker skined people working in the back while the white people were mainly in the front of the stores. They wouldn't spend money on anything that bears the name Abercrombie.

"They wouldn't spend money on anything that bears the name Abercrombie"

Correction: I wouldn't spend money on anything that bears the name Abercrombie.

haha yea that was confusing! but i mean hey there was something about asians, i think it's funny and i'm asian, some people just take things WAY too seriously, it could also be because i'm a twinky so im kinda white inside... i don't know
