what is HEOP??

<p>how do we apply for heop? could we apply for it after we fill out the fafsa? how are we notified if we are approved for heop?</p>

<p>Most HEOP schools (including SUNY) will ask directly on the application if you are applying for HEOP (you must check of the box). The school will then use the information from your FAFSA and tax statements (or other financial documentation to determine your eligibility).</p>

<p>You can only get HEOP as an incoming freshman (transfer students and upperclassmen are not eligible.</p>

<p>However if you have received HEOP, if you transfer to another NYS school your HEOP status will go with you (this does not necessarily mean that you will get the same FA package at the transferring school). </p>

<p>If you are approved for HEOP you are notified in your admissions letter.</p>
