I'd like both perspectives from guys & girls. I've heard things like "they always get hit on" to "it's lonely being a girl in engineering". I've heard a lot of the girls are unattractive & not sociable. I am planning on going into mechanical engineering & computer science, possibly getting a dual major. I want to take a lot of technical-based classes, I really hate humanities and the "liberal-artsy" types of courses. The school I got accepted to for this coming fall is UM-Rolla (Missouri S&T), but I probably won't go there until my junior year. Just anything to prepare me for what I'm about to walk into would be awesome! :3 Thanks

It’s NOT true that girls are unattractive and unsociable in engineering. Engineering is tough so everyone is working hard.

The girls are about the same as anywhere else…

I can give you a perspective from the honors math classes I am in; I am sure it is somewhat similar. I would say about one quarter of the class is girls, and of that three quarters are Asian. Most of them are friendly enough, and there actually is one really pretty girl.
