So I got accepted as a regents scholar for bioengineering at UCLA, and I'm 90% likely to take the deal. Here is what I already know about being a regents scholar:
UCLA Financial Aid Office | CAL GRANTS | LOANS | WORK STUDY | SCHOLARSHIP | PELL GRANTS

-priority class registration
-guaranteed housing
-guaranteed campus parking
-eligibility for the regents scholar society

I am a premed, so I will be looking for research opportunities, hospital programs, and whatnot. Aside from the perks the website states, does being a regents scholar give me any other unspoken advantages that make it easier to get what I want? Is the regents scholar society any good? Is there anything else I should know about being a premed and/or a regent?

Input from current bioengineers/premeds/regents would be super appreciated, but even if you aren't one of those, I would still be very interested in reading what you think.
