My name is Bryanna, I am a college student. I want to learn about more about what it is like to be a dance major. I have a few questions:
What motivated you to start dancing and what keeps you in the dance field?
What are the pros and cons of the dance world?
What don’t most people understand about dance?
What do you want to do as a dancer/Is there a certain goal you want to reach?
If you could go back and change anything about your dance career, would you? And why?
Thank you.
Are you thinking of majoring in dance yourself or are you just doing some independent research? Do you have a dance background? (Becoming a professional dancer is rigorous and competitive to the extreme…most have had extensive training and determination throughout childhood …not just something you can pick up in college…but I realize that may not be why you’re asking.)
I am actually taking a dance appreciation class and we have to ask dance majors and people who work in the dance field about what it is like to be a dancer.
Oh, OK! I didn’t want to come off snarky…but I do think you might get more/better answers with people knowing where you’re coming from. I can’t answer your question…but my daughter has done a lot of dance and so your thread caught my eye. Hope others respond…
