I am a junior and I’m beginning to seriously look at colleges individually. From what I know, Brown is a great school that is very strong in the humanities. I know you can take any class pass/fail and that it’s in Rhode Island. That’s pretty much it. Oh and I hear the students are happy… which is a plus of course =)

What is life at Brown like?

How is pre-med at Brown? (regular pre-med, not PLME)

What is the campus like? Is it in the middle of nowhere or is it near a large city?

How are the people? How are the professors?

Basically tell me everything you know about life at Brown, specifically for a pre-med student.

Thank you, your help is much appreciated!!

Oh and one more question: How diverse is Brown? I’m a Middle Eastern male (Iraqi to be specific) and I want to go to a school where I’d be among people of diverse backgrounds =)

Yes, we could go on for many lengthy replies to answer your questions above, but I’m exhausted just reading the list. One thing that Brown is all about is that it is very much a school for students who are self directed, and can plan their own course of studies (with guidance available of course.) So it is also about being able to work to answer your own questions. SO I do recommend that you read some of Brown’s direct literature, and read previous threads here that will answer your questions first.
This is an older thread about premed at Brown, but it will get you started. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/51366-pre-med-brown.html?highlight=brown+premed
