hunter specifically... I know that there is no real "college campus", but as far as the experience goes, does anyone have any input on that? I am applying to hunter and i enjoyed talking to the professors, but i feel like life will be strange and that there isn't guaranteed housing. I live in NJ and would hate commuting.

Are your grades that bad that you have to put a CUNY up as a first choice?

I live in NY, and everyone knows that CUNY colleges, with the exception of maybe City, are just like high school. Basically it’s 13th grade. I took a course at Lehman college and it was horrible.

no it’s not my first choice lol but i am applying there so i am just wondering what it’s like living in NYC as a college student

I know a girl who goes there. She likes it, but she hates the “commuting” part from NJ to NY. Another high school classmate of mine who goes there actually lives with her cousins in New York City, so for her it is an easy to commute.

Hunter is a good school – one of the better, reputable CUNY schools. But if you want the “college experience” and don’t like the idea of commuting from NJ to NY, then maybe you should reconsider and look at another school.

In terms of housing, there is a website (link provided!) [Housing - The City University of New York](http://web.cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/housingoptions.html#hunter). It gives you options for housing for CUNY students. Maybe you should take a look at it.

Out of curiosity, are there any other colleges that you are looking at? Are you specifically trying to look for college in New York City?

nah i am also looking at muhlenberg, F&M, Union, Ithaca, Cuse, AMerican, Umass, Binghamton, Ursinus, Maryland, Rider, ramapo, quinnipiac

bit too many lol i’ll probably cut a few out
