Hi, this is my first post. I’m a freshman and I’ve been hearing about this org on campus called MEChA. My friend wants me to join. Does anyone know what this org is or can offer advice as to joining it?

Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlan.
It is a club that promotes awareness of “LaRaza” by focusing on political and educational knowledge of the Hispanic culture. The clubs are all run differently, but they basically focus on enhancing knowledge of the diversity of all cultures.
The focus can be towards Hispanic cultures, and you do learn the history of the New World, but, depending on the club, you also may learn about the contributions (languages, foods, histories) from all the other European settlers to the Iberian peninsula.
If you would like to join your friend, the clubs welcome all comers. IF you have MECHA on your campus, they typically are pretty active.
