I have been accepted to Illinois-Urbana-Champaign and Purdue (West Lafayette). I'm still waiting to hear from Notre Dame, Marquette, Yale, and Stanford. I'm ranked 6th out of 643 in my class, and I received a 33 on my ACT (I did not take the SAT). In terms of these schools, which has the best undergraduate business/finance/economics programs? Also, what are my chances of getting in to Yale, Stanford, and Notre Dame? Thanks for the help

Yale and Stanford are random even for top students. ND is a match but no lock. You won't find too much ug business at S or Y. Just great econ. The rest have good (not great) business schools.

Would top business schools (graduate) and employers accept/recruit me if I went to one of these schools?

As you go down the list you get fewer of the really exclusive Ibanks and such but many Fortune 500 firms and top accting firms recruit at UI, Purdue, ND and Marquette.

well you dont need to work at a really exclusive bank, as long as you can get your foot in, that is most importan. But yes, most of those schools listed are recruited for accounting, industrial, commercial banking and regional marketing with a few banks coming here and there, most going to Illinois. Most shools however have finance societies that compete in compeitions but also have city visits to new york and chicago (should add toronto is a finance power house as well) to visit alumni and go on job hunts. They also have more network connections

They aren't close to the Ivies, but if you do well you will be fine for fortune 500 type jobs. You should get into Notre Dame. Yale/ Stanford are such a crapshoot, with your stats you would have done better to apply to realistic reaches like Duke, Brown, Penn, Dartmouth and slight reaches like Northwestern and WUSTL.

Ya I dont see why you didnt apply to Penn, if you are looking for a business school thats the place to be

My uncle was recruited right out of Notre Dame (c/o '90) to AmeriBank or World Bank or something like that with an accounting degree.

accounting is a lot easier to get into from these colleges than investment banking is
