Hi, first of all I'm international student(korean) and rising senior. I'm concerned if I can get into Emory University. I came to America about 3 years ago (I have green card). I'm going to boarding school. I really want to get into Emory University and I want to know what is my chance. Here's my profile.
- Freshman GPA: 3.2 Sophomore GPA: 3.4 Junior GPA: 3.7
- taken 4 ap classes(ap euro, ap lang, ap us history, ap bio) and planning to take 2 ap classes next year(ap cal, ap chem)
- my SAT score is 1800s.(took one in april and planning to study this summer and take one more time).
- varsity tennis team
- about 200 hrs of service in hospital
- joined key club, environmental club, and math club.
- choir
- won few piano competitions in korea.
- and i dont know if this can be helpful when i apply for Emory university. but my boarding school is pretty good school and many students get accepted to Emory University every year. this year 7 students got accepted to Emory University.
I'm planning to do better in senior year and get better score in SAT.
- got honors in National Spanish Exam.

The reality is, your GPA and SATs put you in the bottom 25% of all admitted Emory students. Though they might favor you if you’re a full paying international (from what I’ve read in the school’s newspaper, they seem to be wanting more international students), I don’t think those stats can make up for it.

You might stand a shot at getting into Oxford College of Emory. It’s a neat program. I went there and loved it, but it’s an extremely different school than the main Atlanta campus.
