Woahh, my stats are crazy identical to your’s. instate, 4.46 Gpa, ranked 6th out of like 300. terrible sat scores: reading:510, math:650, writing:530. Tons of extra curricular like drum major, church involvement and mission trips, a lot of clubs and leadership positions in those. I really hope that our sat scores wont bring us down because that is our only downside. I hope we get accepted, good luck!!!

Thanks! Yeah we are very similar. I am so nervous. I am afraid that my SAT scores are gonna hurt me incredibly. But we will see on Sunday. Good Luck!

I am also similar to you both 650 math 540 reading 600 writing. I think you should both be fine. I got a likely letter with these stats. 4.6 weighted 3.86 unweighted. SUNDAY AWAITS! I’m also instate.

Yea buddy, you just have to be patient. Nobody on this college confidential can tell you your chances of getting into to Carolina. They are not the admissions. As a matter of fact, I went to the tarheel shadow program and the director was telling us how much this site is garbage. Numbers cant tell who you are as an individual. I’m not sure where Ryan 82 is getting those crazy numbers. Just be patient, tomorrow we will find out. And if Carolina doesnt work out for you, Im sure you have great options

Well all I can tell you is that you have a better chance because of your in-state status but a lower chance due to your lower SAT scores. Which gives you an average chance.

Though that doesn’t include your essays nor what the admissions will think of your EC’s. It’s frustrating but really none of us have really any idea if we’ll get in. Honestly only in-staters with 2200’s and 4.0’s have and true 99% guarantee of getting in.

your right that joke did go over my head, couldnt tell if you were being serious or not, i mean I dont know who you are, so I assumed you were being serious…

I would say that we all have a pretty good chance based off of our GPA. I think they said that our rigor of classes and how we did in those classes were the most important factor. I don’t think that the writing sat score will affect anything negatively since that is still a new section of the SAT. The math and reading scores will be important, but hopefully we wont be denied based off of just doing bad on the reading section. The math section of a 650 is within the 50% range. Their reading stats show that most people don’t do as well on the reading portion of the SAT. I have only taken 3 AP classes so I don’t know if that will be enough; however, my other classes such as physics are just as challenging as AP classes. Did you write good essays and get a good recommendation? I think my essays were good because I wrote about my experience as a drum major and how it was the first time that I have taken on a major leadership position. My english teacher has also been known for writing excellent recommendation letters which is why I chose him. Well I hope we will all hear good news tomorrow, and be sure to keep us informed on the outcome! Oh and aren’t you guys glad that we are instate and have a lot easier chance than out of staters. Well I’m going back outside for major sledding now to keep my mind more relaxed, good luck to everyone!! :)

Haha. I think my essays were good. I got my ap literature teacher to revise them. I also got a very good recommendation letter from my ap chemistry teacher. I hope I get in!
