What is my chance of actually getting into my top choice schools? Complete honesty, thank you!

Okay, so my first choice University is TAMU but I am also considering Baylor. However, I’m really concerned with my academic performance when it comes to applying to schools. My GPA is a 94.5 (about a 3.999 on my school’s 4.0 scale), but my rank is 156/671 (it’s up by 10 ranks since last semester). My class is VERY competitive, so in almost any other school in my city I would be close to the top 10%. But, again, my class is VERY competitive. My SAT also isn’t great–about a 1500. I am planning to take the ACT soon, though.

Here’s the thing though, I have a RIDICULOUS amount of EC’s. I am in Academic Decathlon, Varsity Choir (and I am an officer), NHS, Varsity Debate (and I am going to state, this is my first year debating) and I’ve had two jobs, one babysitting and one at an amusement park. I am in two AP classes, a Pre-AP class, and an advanced science class. I also used to volunteer for a crisis hotline’s website, among other things. I don’t know if this is compensation for my class rank or not.

I know I must sound really stressed out over this, but I genuinely want to go to an upper tier university for college but fear not being accepted. Are there other schools I should be looking at? Thanks!

I think you have a shot at UTD, TAMU, UNT, SMU, Baylor, TCU, TSU, UT Arlington, UT SA and Texas Tech. Ranking and lack of AP courses is your disadvantage but I’m fairly positive that you’ll get in a decent school. Almost everyone gets into UNT so use it as your safety.

You should post this in the chance me forum.
I think you have a shot at both of those schools, although it would be better if you take the ACT.

Whoops, my bad. And, thanks!

Is there anything else I can do to improve my chances?
