What is my GPA?

How can I figure out my GPA? My school has a very strange scale... If anyone would be willing to calculate my GPA for me or let me know how to do so... (I have seen so many different explanations online), that would be SO wonderful!

Thank you so much in advance! I want to know my GPA so that I can compare it with the average GPAs that schools post on their websites. Right now, I really have no idea how I compare with most of the schools I'm interested in.

If I were to simply equate all the A’s for 4’s, and B’s for 3’s, I think you’d have a 3.826. But I think this all will vary based on which are (if your school weights/you took weighted classes) weighted. And how the colleges you apply to calculate GPA. And how many years they take into consideration (9-12, 10-12, etc). And if they look at minuses and pluses or just “A”, “B”.

My point is there are a lot of variables! :D

Edit: Oh you changed the post, lol. Umm… I’ll try to calculate it again.

Edit2: Okay so just based on if a class was weighted, and on a 5.0 scale, and ignoring -/+, I found 11 5pts, 11 4pts, and 1 3pts. So divide whatever sum I got by 23 and I think that’s a 4.435 weighted. Not sure if that’s right though! And I didn’t do anything special, so maybe I’m missing something that you’re asking for. :)

No, you don’t have to!
Same grades! I just rearranged them beginning with freshman year on, and I added the names of the courses. Thanks for doing that! Yeah, I just wanted to figure out my unweighted GPA… because that is what I most often see reported by schools. I’ve heard you can do 4 points for an A, 3 for a B, but how do you factor in +s and -s?

Thanks so much again!

2.8

Have you tried looking at some community colleges?

Assuming all your classes have equal weights, and that A+=A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3, your unweighted GPA would be 3.826.

In general, except for A+, a “+” or “-” gives a plus or minus 0.3 to the base score, with the base scores being 4, 3, 2, and 1, respectively, for A, B, C, and D.

^^ Eh? It’s 3.8/4.0, and there is no need for community college.

Agree with Techie, .3 added to or subtracted from the base score per letter. That’s how my school does it, too.

Okay thanks guys! I hope you are correct, because I thought my GPA was about a 3.7 and if you are right then I have a 3.826 which is better than I expected!
