AP AB Calc
AP Latin IV
AP English Language
Theology
Honors Greek III
Health III
Honors Physics

N.B. My school limits us to a max of 3 AP courses. There's no honors theology or health course. And yes, I've taken 4 years of Latin and 3 years of Greek (well, one 'year' was a summer course.), so basically I have 7 years of languages under my belt.

SAT's:

V: 790
M: 620
W: 730

1410/1600, 2140/2400

Major EC's (I do have a few more):

Latin Tutoring
Grade School Latin Program (we teach grade schoolers basic latin)
Pallbearer ministry
Model U.N.
Academic Challenge (a.k.a. Quizbowl, I guess)

GPA is 4.1 and my school doesn't do class rank either. I should note now that I attend a private, all boys Catholic high school.

^your profile is a tough sell to admissions, rd you really have to be outstanding in something/ a few things, i can't see anything that would pull you in, sats are average, gpa i suppose is good, EC are average/below average. i think you have a chance but it will be difficult.

Ah, well, I was actually hoping to hear that. I was just making sure I didn't have absolutely no chance or something really bad. So now, I guess it's up to my essay to make me stand out.

So, then, do you think an interview would help increase my chances? Also, how much do you think the 7 courses of classical languages help? I was thinking that that would help me stand out.

Haha that's what I thought too. Looks like we're pretty similar.

Yeah like the NLE (so easy). I didn't even know there was a NGE, it's not offered at my school. But since I'm Greek my dad makes me go to Greek school, so that's what the deal is.

Have you ever competed at area/state competitions in it?

AFAIK, where I live, there aren't any regional/local competitions. If there were, I'm pretty sure the Classics department would send out notifications about it.

Also, I'm an NHS member and a National Merit Commended student.

Haha I'm in NHS too but my PSAT got thrown out due to highlighting on it. Talk about a bad day when I found that out. My mom spent like half the day on the phone with the ETS people and they STILL wouldn't take it. They said I was trying to facilitate cheating. :( Even though it was impossible.

Yeah, anyway, I don't know if I should go for an interview or not. My essay and recs are really good, but I'm not sure if they'll be enough. I'm counting on my essay to up my chances, since my stats are only decent.

I hear the interview doesn't really help with admissions. And no one knows for sure whether anything on their resume will be "enough". I guess you just have to cross your fingers!
