hey i just found out a week ago my psat score was 170 where should my average for the SAt's be at???

Also how can i improve myself i really didn't study much for the Psat's so is there a posibilty that i could get a 2250 or higher on the SAt's??

It depends. I got a 193 or so on my PSAT but got over 2200 on the SAT. I didn't study or prepare for the SAT, but I do remember misinterpreting the instructions on the writing section of the PSAT.

My PSAT was considerably lower than my SAT score. Just remember that no standardized test can predict anything with 100% accuracy. If you put your mind to it, I'm sure you can ace the SATs :).

well a 170 isnt that great of a PSAT score, especially if you want a 2250, but you can raise the score depending on what grade you are currently in and how much you prep.

A significant improvement is a likelihood, but going from 170 to 2250 is one hell of a jump. I got 210 my junior year on PSATs and 2230 on my SATs (I had already taken the SAT's twice in 7th and 8th grade and PSAT's sophomore year so the PSATs weren't really new to me). If you want to spend obscene amounts of money on prepping I imagine you could do it. 2250 is one hell of a score, though. Are you shooting for Ivies or what?
