What is my Umich GPA

<p>Hey, I didn't get a reply on one of my posts for this question, so I'll try reposting. But anyway, I was wondering also about how many more Bs I can get before I'll have no chance at michigan and what my current UMich GPA is. </p>

*I am an Asian Indian Male (most likely won't help)
*From a competitive public high school in Oregon: Beaverton High School, which was also rated the best AP school in Oregon, so yeah, its a smart school. (being from oregon isn't going to help either)
*student body at school = 500+</p>

<p>IN SUMMARY: I should finish high school with around 3.75 or 3.8 UW GPA, but I'll do what ever I can to prevent that from happening. If I go down in flames, then I'll end up with a 3.7.</p>

<p>*class rank UW right now = 38/515. Weighted = 30/515 (will go up because not many kids have taken hard classes yet)

*Mathcounts Tutor (about 50+ volunteer hours)
*Right now I get about a 1920-2050 on the SAT, 28-30 on ACT according to Practice Tests for SAT, and the PLAN (it's like the PSAT for SAT except the ACT version) on ACT, but I'm shooting for at least a 2100 on the SAT and 32 on the ACT. Don't count on me getting a 2100 or a 32 because its not going to happen as far as I can tell right now</p>

<p>The thing is, if you can't figure out how to calculate your UM GPA, maybe you should look into community colleges.</p>

<p>I can't tell you how many more B's you can get before you don't have a chance, but I can tell you how to calculate your umich gpa.</p>

<p>Here it is.......
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions for U-M recalculates the grade point averages (GPA) for all applicants. Grades are determined using an unweighted 4.0 scale: A (including plus or minus ) = 4.0, B (including plus or minus) = 3.0, C (including plus or minus) = 2.0, D (including plus or minus) = 1.0, and E or F = 0.0. </p>

<p>Freshmen: No extra (GPA) weight is given to Honors, Accelerated, or Advanced Placement courses; however, the difficulty of a student's curriculum is taken into consideration within the admission's process. Additionally, only academic courses from 10th and 11th grade (Foreign Language, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and English) are used to calculate the GPA.</p>

<p>california_love8, I was actually thinking the same exact thing that awheio said. I was wondering "hey.... if you can't even find one of the 15 or so threads on this subject and calculate it yourself, maybe you don't deserve UMich....". Of course I wasn't that serious in my head, but still.</p>

<p>Your school actually has a SAT prep class with a grade? Is this common?</p>

<p>I think your Michigan GPA is a 3.75, although I may have counted a class I should have, such as Psych or Human Anatomy</p>
