What is on the Math II and Literature?

Looking to sign my daughter up for a couple of SAT II's just to hedge our bets about private schools. She is currently taking AP Calc AB/BC and doing well; getting 5's on practice tests. Does the Math II mostly cover calculus? I'd also like to know what they test for on the literature test. She is taking AP Comp this year and AP Lit next year. A whiz at English and reading. Another option in the American or World History test. Those would not be a challenge for her at all I think and could pull a good score. TIA for any info/advice!

I can’t comment on literature or world history, but the Math II only covers up to Pre-Calc. With some review and a couple practice tests, I’m sure she will do great.

The American History test is also not terribly hard in my experience. Again, brushing up on some terms and doing a few practice tests will probably get her to where she needs to be.

Math II covers up through Trig/Pre-calculus. No calculus knowledge needed. It’s actually better to take this test immediately following Trig/Pre-Calc class when material is still fresh. The best preparation is to work through Barron’s SAT Math Level 2 book, followed by the two actual tests published by College Board. If your daughter scores ~700 on Barron’s tests, she should do well on real subject test. Although material is familiar, it’s important to get comfortable with right pacing to complete test within an hour. My son who is currently a senior scored an 800 on Math 2 and a 5 on AP Calc exams.

FYI - if student takes multiple subject tests in one setting, he cannot cancel just one of the scores. It’s an “all or nothing” situation.
