What does it mean when a college say’s that it is open admission?
It means the college is nonselective and the only criteria for admittance are either a HS diploma or GED max. In many cases of CCs and JCs, you actually don’t even need either.
Ok, So let’s say that I apply to an open admission college. I graduated from HS but my grades were not so hot. Would that affect my chances of getting into an open admission college?
No, it means they let everyone in. Just make sure you have the requirements for it. What college is it? Is this a local CC/JC or something else?
I dont have a college yet. I,m still in HS
I know, I’m asking what college this question is about. I’m assuming you got the open enrollment idea from somewhere.
Yeah, The colleges I were looking at are as followed: I live in ohio
-
The University Of Toledo
-
Ohio University
-
John Jay University
Interesting. Why the question about open admission then? Toledo and Ohio are very high admit rate schools, but not open enrollment.
Because I wanted to clarify what open admission was. I talked to my guidance counselor what I do not understand him.
Got it. Hope I was able to help.
