What is penn state university parks acceptance rate W/Out the hardest majors to get into?

These majors include business, engineering and nursing.
I would be interested to see what the university’s acceptance rates are without those.
Aswell as and especially the average ACT and GPA. I’d imagine somewhat lower. Anybody have any ideas what they could be?

They don’t publish specifics like that so I think anyone would just be guessing. The average GPA of all freshmen admitted to PSU for 2017-2017 was a 3.6. Since there are many more majors that would be considered not as competitive and only a few that are very very competitive, I think that the numbers likely even out. Regardless, I’ve been on this board for years and I have very rarely seen anyone with lower than a 3.3 - 3.4 admitted to University Park. And those people most always have to start in the summer.

Interesting… My weighted GPA is a 4.08 but my ACT is only at 26 and I’ve applied to political science however unfortunately I do not have the option of going to summer session… What would you say my chances are? Also I am a legacy my father graduated there… If you need more specifics to Chance Me I have a thread posted the old one got deleted. @jlhpsu. Also thanks for your help on all of the Penn State questions… I’ve seen your answers on a lot of different posts to questions I had. That I didn’t have to ask directly

You should be good for Fall. Try to do Paterno Fellows (in particular, take the Honors classes for your intro courses as well as the 2-course sequence with the Schreyer students, 137-138, it’s terrific and fulfills several requirements) and look into an IST minor, SODA, or a statistics minor.

Thanks!
