What is Preview Prep?

I keep reading things that mention I need to complete "Preview Prep" before I go to preview, but I can't figure ut what it is. There are a couple of links to it online but they don't work, so they must be from previous years..

At Preview you’ll make your schedule and register for next fall. Take the placement exams for math/chem and go through the college catalog (on-line) and see what courses you’d like to take. Depending on APs etc you may or may not have to get gen ed requirements.

I think you can see what is required for you to do before you get to Preview by logging in to your UF ISIS account.

So we take college placement exams at preview?

No, you need to go on ISIS and take them before preview…but I think it is only for Calculus and Chemistry

It is to see what level you are prepared for, and there is a certain score you need to get to register for Mac2311 or CHEM 2045

Oh okay. I’m assuming I’ll be taking both since I will have taken both Precalc and Trig by end of senior year, and my major is Pre-Med. That’s just awesome lol -_-

So many people start out pre-med…including me( really biology since pre-med is not a major)…and most take Mac2311(calculus) and Chem2045 the first semester, but you can not register for them if you do not get the scores.

My understanding is after taking these classes, many change to a different field of study…they can be very difficult classes. I am immediately going to sign up for the gold study edge so I, hopefully, start off on the right track

I am in Calculus now and my teacher thinks I will most likely get a 4 or 5 on the AP exam, so I am kind of at odds on what to register for…Does anyone with experience think I should register for Stats…or should I retake Calc???

Well I didn’t take stats in a college class, but I took it as an AP class so it is essentially at the same level. I found stats awful and a lot harder than any other math I’ve ever taken. But some people do really well in it; it just depends on the person. If you’re better memorizing formulas and problems with a lot of steps versus the logical/abstract thinking in algebra, then you should do well in stats.
If it was me, I would take calc. But who knows, you very well might really like stats!
