What is proof enough of an upward trend?

my grades were poor frosh year.

for soph/junior years, however, they were consistently strong (3.8./3.7)

since i've had basically the same grades (1/10 of a point was one A instead of one A+) for two thirds of my hs career should i still wait to show them my first semester senior grades?

can i apply early decision?

The advice I remember about applying early decision is that it’s for people who “feel that their fall semester grades would not reveal any new information.”

So you “can” apply ED, because you can see the upward trend. Or you could show that you’re still going strong. I honestly have no idea which on an admissions office would prefer, as the benefits of ED are ambiguous to begin with.

It depends on the school you want to apply to, and how invested you are in it, too. So it’s really your decision whether you think it would be worthwhile to show them your grades fall semester.
