What is smartness? and who are we to determine someone elses smartness?

^Thanks for your useless comment thiscouldbeheavn. It was greatly appreciated.

Would it have been more useful if I had corrected you grammar/spelling and been more direct about how stupid you appear in your story? In all honesty, you do seem to lack “smartness.”

IMO, I think grades tell us nothing. I’ve seen amazingly intelligent people that don’t try at all in school. I guess that makes that stupid in some sense, but I see these people trying to define smartness by grade… and it’s not right. I guess I fall under that category of rating someone by their grades, as that would put me a superior position I guess, but I know grades really don’t mean everything.

Honestly ‘smartness’ is impossible to define. Einstein was a genius, but let’s say… in the fine arts area, he was probably mediocre at best.

I don’t think anybody can define smartness or has the right to rate someone according to it.

Well I guess I am lacking smartness then thiscouldbeheavn. I am an idiot who has no sense of what he is saying when he types and thus the grammar mistakes. It’s not that I am a foreign student or anything but that I am completely lacking smartness. I may be lacking smartness as you say, but I sure as hell know my potential and where I want to go in life. So continue with the grammar jokes, they really show the type of person you are.

Is there really a need to correct grammar on the internet? I mean, isn’t it enough that 3/4 of the people on here take AP English already?

I mean, if it’s not something big, like a clear lack of comprehension of the English language, then let it slide for sometime. (I’m guilty however)

Just my $ .02

Everyone is guilty.
