Ok, so I got accepted into St. Edwards and got a pretty good financial aid package... But not spectacular. I toured and liked it a lot, so I took my offer.

But I've never heard anything about it. Did I make mistake? I really wanted to go to UNT but my parents said no, and I'm an out of state kid.

Now I'm stuck in a weird funk. Can anyone help me?

If you’ve gotten a pretty good financial aid package rejoice!!! It’s a sister school (if I recall correctly) for Notre Dame University, so perhaps you could transfer to ND later or for grad school. Plus it’s in Austin, so lot’s to do.

What exactly are you asking?
St. Ed’s is nice! Beautiful campus, small classes for personal attention, and Austin is an AMAZING city to live in- theres always something to do, see, eat, buy… Lol. Lots of fun!

If I should’ve went to UNT… I really am at a loss. At the current moment I want to be a philosophy major, but I also have an interest in film. Is st. Ed’s a good philosophy school?

There’s really no point asking these questions now. At best it’s buyers remorse, at worst, it will make you miserable. Just start focusing on St. Eds. Start looking at the departments and faculty backgrounds. Look at the student clubs, maybe you’ll form a film club. You’re going to be in Austin, home of SXSW which is really starting to get serious into film. There will be opportunities. Go in with a positive attitude and you’ll find plenty of opportunities.

We visited St. Ed’s last summer and loved it. It remained one of my D’s top choices, although she ultimately decided on another school. I think you’ll get a good education in a fun city! I second sadilly - look for opportunities and take advantage of them. Don’t get stuck in what could have been - it’s not productive.

My friend was a philosophy major at St. Ed’s and loved it! It is a very liberal school for being a Catholic one, the majority of the people there are very nice. Austin has a lot to offer, and UT is here so you can always use its resources as well.
