What is the Absolute Best GRE test Prep?

I am looking for A Book or software, that I can hone my skills for the GRE. I really need to get a good score.

So whats the best?

kaplan is good

First, download the PowerPrep software from the GRE website. It provides two timed sample tests that are virtually identical to the real thing.

Once you have PowerPrep, take one of the sample tests to determine what your weaknesses (if any) are. Then study appropriately.

Then, be sure to schedule the test early enough so you have time for a do-over if you choke or ETS screws things up.

Next, if you haven't already done so, review the first couple pages of the "Graduate School Admissions 101" thread. Although it is a bit science/engineering oriented, it contains a lot of excellent advice for all fields.

Finally, relax - the GRE 1) isn't that difficult and 2) doesn't count for all that much anyway.

Good Luck!

I have some old SAT books that I havent used.

So do you think just going through the old SAT books and then completing the two practice test would be sufficient? (& free for me)

The GRE is very similar to the SAT. Any strategy that served you well in prepping for, or taking the SAT will probably serve for the GRE. Where are you? Do you have a decent public library? If so, go see what they have for GRE prep.

Good Luck!
