What is the admission average for sciences?

what is the science program admission average? i hear rumors that you need 90% at least to get into science at UBC

It varies year to year. Its usually high 80s. I think in the last 5 years, 89 average was the highest.

yeah, that seems about right. what a lot of people don’t think about is the fact that intra-faculty transfer requirements are super easy. for example, let’s say you have 85% in HS, and UBC Engineering won’t take you in - but Arts will. Well, instead of going to some community college and taking science courses and then trying to get into UBC, you can go to Arts, take engineering courses (they cannot stop you from registering, unless its a restricted course, which very few first year courses are), and then apply for a faculty transfer. Back in 2005, the minimum grade requirement for getting into UBC Engineering was 90%… The minimum grade requirement for transferring into Engineering from another faculty was 65%. Go figure.

**I meant inter-faculty, not intra-faculty. My bad.
