<p>I dont know what the answer is, it is from college board daily question thing, but I get an error message when I click on any answer. Anyway I narrowed it between D and E, and since it says "...in addition to their asthetic value, they are sued to facilitate meditation." I think I would go with E. Can someone tell me the right answer and y it would be? Thanks</p>

<p>The reason it's E is that the sentence says "beautiful BUT _____, blahblahblah." So it's clear that we need a word that isn't a synonym of beautiful, otherwise the "but" would be an "and." That eliminates D, and if you have already eliminated the other options, then E is the only one left.</p>
