I was looking at application deadlines for the colleges I was planning on applying to today but none of them included the year. I’m a junior right now, and I was wondering if the deadline posted on the colleges’ websites are the deadlines for the class of 2015 or 2016? Or are the deadlines on the same day every year?
They generally are static: mostly Nov 1 or Nov 15 for Early Action/Early Decision/Early notification. Usually Dec 31 or Jan 1 for regular decision.
Some schools such as the California UC’s and Cal States deadline is Nov 30. For many rolling admission schools, you can apply as early as August through March of the following year.

Be careful though. The deadlines to submit to guidance may be earlier.
I’m in a school with a Senior class of between 500 and 650 kids every year. If our kids want the whole packet (SAT scores, letters of recommendation and whatever else the school submits) to meet the deadline, then the app can NOT be submitted at the last minute. There simply isn’t any way to process 10 or 12 apps for 600 kids all at the last minute.
Ask in Guidance/ College Placement about how it’s done in your school.
