What is the average class size ??

Whats the average class size especially for economics and math classes ?? Are there opportunities for personal interaction with the profs like at LACs ??

lower div math classes are mostly 120-180 ppl (mostly engineers in the 30 series).

after that, im sure its a lot less because its only math people.

well, econ 1 is over 300... I haven't taken upper divs yet so I don't know if it gets better... but as with all classes you can always just talk to the professor after class or go to office hours

LD economics classes are usually 300+. There's a large variation in class size when it comes to UD economics elective classes. I'd say a lot are 80-120, though there are a few over/under that. If it's an easy class or one taught by an easy professor, it would be filled to the enrollment cap. If not, you could have a class size that's a fraction of the cap (like only 10 students out of possible 80). A few econ "seminars" are around 40ish. I once had a seminar that was capped at 20, so the prof definitely knew us all; it was one of my all time favorite econ classes.

One of my math classes started at 40 and ended at 20, another was 20 the entire quarter, yet another is 60, so they vary.
