@missjackson75 There is a new process for those starting in fall 2019 or later. Before, they admitted a small percentage direct and the rest competed after they got to UW. It’s going to be the reverse: accepting many more direct to major, and only a small percentage for those who change their mind about their major after starting at UW.

Since there is a new process, it’s hard to say what the stats of admitted students will be. However, there are more acceptances so that should mean the level of perfection required will go down a little. Those who don’t get direct-to-CS will have clarity that they should apply elsewhere since they will know most slots are spoken for during the admissions round.
