I checked the website ************** yesterday about the average GPA for CSU Northridge. It was around a 2.8-2.9 GPA that most applicants got accepted last year. Does that mean I can get at least one D or F on my senior year report card?! I think I got a D in Pre-Calc before I took the final exam(which was yesterday), I took the final exam yesterday and I did horrible because I guessed nearly half of the exam...I totally blanked out! I did studied for a few weeks before the final, I do understand most of the concepts in the chapters...I totally forgot most of the stuff I studied on the day of the final! ;( Basically, if I failed the final for Pre-Calc, im screwed because my grade will drop back to an F. Were going to get our final semester report cards this Friday, so it all depends on how well/bad I did on the final exam.

Just because the average GPA is 2.9, doesn't mean that an applicant with a 2.9 stands a good chance.

The F will definitely negatively affect your chances (it is an F after all), but it's just one class. If your overall GPA is high the F will be forgiven (not overlooked, though).

Actually on the site that I checked, for CSU Northridge...they accept 32% of applicants that have a GPA ranging from 2.8-2.9 and only 11% got accepted with a 3.0+ GPA. My unweighted GPA is a 3.4 and weighted is a 3.55 for the last three years not including senior year grades. I never failed one course in the past three years, my lowest grade was a C.
